Tour guide

Destination NWT in Yellowknife, NT is seeking a self-motivated Tour guide. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Work schedule: Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Flexible hours, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must drive sightseeing or tour vehicles.
• The candidate must confirm transportation and accommodation reservations.
• The candidate must collect administration or entrance fees.
• The candidate must coordinate recreation activities.
• The candidate must describe points of interest, answer questions, and provide information.
• The candidate must resolve itinerary and other problems.
• The candidate must assist clients with check-in procedures for accommodation and/or transportation.
• The candidate must utilize microphones or other communication devices to provide directions and pertinent information to visitors.
• The candidate must coordinate activities with local tour guides or leaders of performance groups.
• The candidate must provide information on tipping customs, currency exchange rates, metric conversion, and other details.
• The candidate must assist clients/guests with special needs.
• The candidate must conduct guided tours of museums, gallery exhibitions and heritage sites, respond to inquiries and provide relevant information.
