Technologist, geomatics - land surveying

Great West Resources Ltd. in Bragg Creek, AB is inviting applications for the position of Technologist, geomatics - land surveying. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. We are offering a Seasonal employment or Full time opportunity. Flexible availability required for: Day, , 07:00 to 19:00.

Job Description

• The candidate must operate survey instruments and devices.
• The candidate must participate in field surveys.
• The candidate must keep survey information in systematic order.
• The candidate must assist in the calculation, analysis, and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys.
• The candidate must assist in the preparation of detailed drawings, charts, and plans.
• The candidate must keep records, measurements, and other survey information in systematic order.
• The candidate must analyze latitude, longitude, and angles, and compute trigonometric and other calculations to plot features, contours, and areas to a specific scale.
• The candidate must conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distances, angles, elevations, and contours.
• The candidate must determine precise geographic locations using global positioning systems (GPS) equipment.
• The candidate must prepare detailed drawings, charts, plans, survey notes, and reports.
• The candidate must record measurements and other information obtained during field survey activities.
• The candidate must provide clients with information.

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• The candidate must be accurate.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work from a remote location, performing their duties from a site other than the employer’s central office while maintaining productivity and communication.
• The candidate must work in a camp to support operations, supervise activities, and ensure the safety and engagement of participants.
