Swine herdsperson

Erie Bluff Farms Inc ( Ridgetown, ON) is currently looking for a skilled Swine herdsperson. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Day, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must handle animals.
• The candidate must perform livestock feeding.
• The candidate must perform pig littering activities, including clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medications, identifying piglets, and castration.
• The candidate must track and report on current feed inventory.
• The candidate must perform weaning tasks.
• The candidate must maintain livestock performance records.
• The candidate must select livestock for sale.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
