Stone saw operator

Stone Concept Ltd. is situated in Claresholm, AB and is hiring a Stone saw operator to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Shift timings include: Day, Night.

Job Description

• The candidate must operate blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions.
• The candidate must record manufacturing information such as quantity, size, and type of goods produced.
• The candidate must check products for quality control.
• The candidate must move products using forklift, crane, or hydraulic hoist.
• The candidate must operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone blocks, slabs, or other stone products to specific shapes or designs.
• The candidate must operate sandblasting equipment to cut inscriptions or decorative designs in monumental stone.
• The candidate must perform ongoing machine adjustments.
• The candidate must read blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
• The candidate must operate machines to drill holes in blocks or slabs of stone according to specifications.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Equivalent professional experience accepted.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
