SBMS CONSTRUCTION LTD. is situated in Vancouver, BC and is hiring a Sprinkler system fitter to join the team. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Work schedule: To be determined.

Job Description

• The candidate must install sprinkler heads and mount prepared pipes.
• The candidate must connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment in accordance with specifications and safety standards.
• The candidate must install clamps, brackets and hangers to properly support piping systems, sprinkler systems and fire protection equipment using hand and power tools.
• The candidate must install valves, alarms and associated equipment.
• The candidate must join pipes using soldering and welding equipment.
• The candidate must service and repair sprinkler systems.
• The candidate must test systems for leaks using pressure equipment.
• The candidate must cut openings in walls, floors and ceilings to accommodate piping installations using hand or power tools and machinery.
• The candidate must test systems for leaks using testing equipment.
• The candidate must weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to assemble pipes and fabricate sections of the piping system in accordance with applicable standards.
• The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
