Elma Restaurant in Penticton, BC is inviting applications for the position of Specialty foods chef. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Required shifts: Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call.

Job Description

• The candidate must maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• The candidate must supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
• The candidate must create new recipes.
• The candidate must instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
• The candidate must supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
• The candidate must prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
• The candidate must prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
• The candidate must requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
• The candidate must plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• The candidate must supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks.
• The candidate must train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
