Silviculture worker

South Coast Standing Stem (2007) Ltd. ( Duncan, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Silviculture worker. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This role offers Term or contractPart time leading to full time employment. Work schedule: Day, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must operate power tools to thin and space trees.
• The candidate must prune trees.
• The candidate must cut weeds and undergrowth.
• The candidate must apply chemicals safely and according to guidelines.
• The candidate must fight forest fires.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate must be willing to walk for long periods of time.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
