Job Description
- The candidate must calculate heating and cooling loads.
- The candidate must design duct systems.
- The candidate must manufacture and assemble factory ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
- The candidate must manufacture and assemble water evacuation systems for buildings.
- The candidate must read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
- The candidate must select equipment for residential and small commercial construction.
- The candidate must measure and mark sheet metal according to templates.
- The candidate must operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
- The candidate must grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces.
- The candidate must inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specifications.
- The candidate must instruct apprentices.
- The candidate must cut materials using power tools or by hand.
- The candidate must fit and join sheet metal parts.
- The candidate must install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
- The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
Work Site Environment
- The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
- The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
- The candidate must be able to work at heights.
- The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
Work Setting
- The candidate must work in the installation process to set up large-scale, mixed-media constructions, often designed for a specific location or time period.
- The candidate must work in shop fabrication to cut, assemble, and finish materials according to specifications and quality standards.
- The candidate must work in a service environment, performing job duties within the setting, social interactions, and physical conditions required by the role.
- The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
- The candidate must focus on repair work, restoring damaged, deteriorated, or broken items to good condition.
- The candidate must work in on-site fabrication to construct or assemble products and structures at the project location.
- The candidate's relocation costs should not be covered by the employer; if the company does not provide a relocation package, you may request an advance on your earnings to cover some of your moving expenses.
- The candidate must work in retrofit operations to upgrade, modify, or improve existing structures, systems, or equipment.
- The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.
