Sewing machine operator

Now hiring: Sewing machine operator at The Uniform Group Inc in Scarborough, ON. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Required shifts: , 07:00 to 16:00.

Job Description

• The candidate must perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.
• The candidate must operate sewing machines to assemble garment sections into finished products on a production basis.
• The candidate must operate sewing machines or sew by hand.
• The candidate must set in sleeves, pockets, collars and other garment pieces.
• The candidate must use sewing guides and tension devices to ensure quality stitching.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be able to distinguish between colours.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
