Safety supervisor - occupational health and safety

Core-Mark in Burnaby, BC is seeking a self-motivated Safety supervisor - occupational health and safety. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position.

Job Description

• The candidate must direct staff.
• The candidate must motivate staff.
• The candidate must plan and control budget and expenditures.
• The candidate must plan and organize daily operations effectively.
• The candidate must provide information and training to employers, employees, and the general public.
• The candidate must train staff to ensure proficiency in their roles.
• The candidate must establish and implement operational policies and procedures.
• The candidate must inspect spills of hazardous chemicals or products.
• The candidate must inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards.
• The candidate must investigate workplace accidents or illnesses.
• The candidate must develop and implement health and safety plans.
• The candidate must ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
• The candidate must oversee the preparation of reports.
• The candidate must advise senior management.
• The candidate must respond to employee questions and complaints.
• The candidate must liaise with management, union officials, and HR consultants.
• The candidate must provide coaching.
• The candidate must conduct performance reviews.
• The candidate must evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree.
