Registered early childhood educator (RECE)

Little Minds Early Learning Centre Inc in Guelph, ON is seeking a self-motivated Registered early childhood educator (RECE). The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties.
• The candidate must develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must maintain daycare equipment.
• The candidate must engage in storytelling.
• The candidate must assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
• The candidate must assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records.
• The candidate must engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
• The candidate must prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a child care centre, a day nursery, or a crèches, probably the most formal childcare setting.
• The candidate should work in before and after-school programs to provide a safe, fun environment for all students to participate in academic, leisure, and recreational activities outside the traditional school day.
