Production supervisor - food and beverage processing

St. Mary's Bay Fisheries Inc. ( Southern Harbour, NL) is currently looking for a skilled Production supervisor - food and beverage processing. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. This role offers Seasonal employment or Full time employment. The schedule involves Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call, Flexible hours, To be determined, Overtime available shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must minimize hazards at all stages of the food production process.
• The candidate must train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
• The candidate must recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
• The candidate must prepare production and other reports.
• The candidate must recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
• The candidate must supervise, coordinate, and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers.
• The candidate must establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units.
• The candidate must requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• The candidate must have the ability to work independently.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a fish plant, operating machinery to process, package, and ensure the quality of fish and seafood products.
