Preparation upholsterer

The Recovery Room Upholstery ( Regina, SK) is currently looking for a skilled Preparation upholsterer. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment - Part time leading to full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts.
• The candidate must lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery.
• The candidate must tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons.
• The candidate must repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces.
• The candidate must operate sewing machines or sew by hand.
• The candidate must utilize hand and power tools.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a quick learner.
• The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate must be able to distinguish between colours.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
