Plastic extruder operator

Now hiring: Plastic extruder operator at Preston Plastics Reprocessing in Cambridge, ON. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Shift timings include: Evening, Night, Shift, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to equipment.
• The candidate must weigh resins, colorants and other chemicals according to formulas.
• The candidate must monitor and inspect quality of produced materials.
• The candidate must place weighed materials into mixing machines.
• The candidate must operate mixing machines to blend plastics and chemicals to required consistency and viscosity.
• The candidate must unload mixtures into containers or conveyors for further processing.
• The candidate must pack items for shipping and distribution.
• The candidate must change dies on extruding machines according to production line changes.
• The candidate must organize and maintain inventory.

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be able to distinguish between colours.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
