Pipelayer - drainage systems

D.M.D. Farm Drainage in Elmvale, ON is seeking a self-motivated Pipelayer - drainage systems. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Required shifts: Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
• The candidate must perform pre-operational inspections.
• The candidate must assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction.
• The candidate must level earth to meet fine grade specifications.
• The candidate must perform routine maintenance work.
• The candidate must remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
• The candidate must tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
• The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must assist equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment or trucks.
• The candidate must follow emergency and safety procedures.
• The candidate must conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distances, angles, elevations, and contours.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be hardworking.
• The candidate must be well-organized.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.

Work Setting

• The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.
• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
• The candidate must work on a farm.
