Pest control technician

Duka Environmental Services Ltd. ( Whitehorse, YT) is currently looking for a skilled Pest control technician. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Required shifts: Early morning, Evening, On call.

Job Description

• The candidate must inspect buildings and surrounding areas for signs of infestation.
• The candidate must provide cost estimates for projects or services.
• The candidate must determine the type of treatment required.
• The candidate must prepare and spray chemical mixtures on infested areas.
• The candidate must place and set traps to capture and remove animals.
• The candidate must advise clients on how to prevent pest infestation.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Equivalent professional experience accepted.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
