Personal support worker – nursing care

Spring Living is situated in Gloucester, ON and is hiring a Personal support worker – nursing care to join the team. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Shift timings include: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
• The candidate must serve meal trays and feed patients.
• The candidate must deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments.
• The candidate must make beds and maintain patients’ rooms.
• The candidate must supervise patients’ exercise routines.
• The candidate must maintain inventory of supplies.
• The candidate must bathe, dress, and groom patients.
• The candidate must transport patients between care facilities.
• The candidate must transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers.
• The candidate must answer call signals to determine patients’ needs.
• The candidate must prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas.
• The candidate must administer first aid in emergency situations.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must show initiative.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
