Job Description

  • The candidate must supply and empty bed pans.
  • The candidate must serve meal trays and feed patients.
  • The candidate must weigh, lift, turn, and position patients.
  • The candidate must deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments.
  • The candidate must make beds and maintain patients’ rooms.
  • The candidate must maintain inventory of supplies.
  • The candidate must bathe, dress, and groom patients.
  • The candidate must transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • The candidate must answer call signals to determine patients’ needs.
  • The candidate must collect specimens.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
  • The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).

Work Setting

  • The candidate must work from a remote location, performing their duties from a site other than the employer’s central office while maintaining productivity and communication.
  • The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
  • The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.
  • The candidate should work in a nursing home/home for the aged or people who don't need to be in a hospital but can't be cared for at home.
