Peer support worker

Hope House Mother's Home is situated in Summerside, PE and is hiring a Peer support worker to join the team. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Casual employment - Part time leading to full time position. The schedule involves Morning, Day, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare reports or case histories.
• The candidate must perform administrative and office activities.
• The candidate must appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services.
• The candidate must perform administrative tasks.
• The candidate must implement life skills workshops.
• The candidate must develop, co-ordinate, and implement the delivery of specific services within the community.
• The candidate must perform housekeeping activities.

• The candidate must resolve conflict situations.
• The candidate must supervise children’s visits with parents to ensure safety.
• The candidate must maintain program statistics for evaluation and research purposes.
• The candidate must supervise and care for children.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.

• The candidate must work in a community agency to deliver programs, coordinate services, and support individuals and families.
• The candidate must work in a social service or charity agency, delivering programs and support that address community needs and promote social welfare.
