G-P Distributing inc ( Whitehorse, YT) is currently looking for a skilled Order picker. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must carry customers’ purchases to parking lots and pack orders in customers’ vehicles.
• The candidate must obtain articles for customers from shelves or stockrooms.
• The candidate must maintain computerized stock inventory.
• The candidate must record incoming stock.
• The candidate must stock shelves and display areas.
• The candidate must keep stock clean and in order.
• The candidate must perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors.
• The candidate must operate an electric pallet jack safely and efficiently.
• The candidate must operate a forklift.
• The candidate must perform order picking.
• The candidate must provide exceptional customer service.
• The candidate must load and unload goods efficiently.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in the dairy department to handle, stock, and manage dairy products, ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• The candidate must work in the produce department to handle, display, and manage fruits and vegetables, ensuring freshness, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• The candidate must work in the non-perishable goods department to stock, organize, and manage products, ensuring quality, accessibility, and customer satisfaction.
• The candidate must work in the frozen foods department to handle, store, and manage frozen products, maintaining proper temperature, quality, and safety standards.
• The candidate should work in a supermarket/grocery store self-service shop offering a wide variety of food, beverages, and household products, organized into sections.
• The candidate should work in a warehouse, which can be a noisy, busy place to work, with hundreds of warehouse operatives, pickers, and packers, working alongside many forklift truck drivers who are moving pallets between shelves.
• The candidate should work in wholesalers, purchase their products from a manufacturer or distributor and then sell them to another retailer to market them to end customers.
