H&E Keddy Bros.Ltd ( Kentville, NS) is currently looking for a skilled Order picker. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, On call.

Job Description

• The candidate must bag, box, or parcel purchases for customers, for shipment or delivery.
• The candidate must obtain articles for customers from shelves or stockrooms.
• The candidate must unpack products received by the store and count, weigh, or sort items.
• The candidate must order stock.
• The candidate must record incoming stock.
• The candidate must stock shelves and display areas.
• The candidate must keep stock clean and in order.
• The candidate must perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors.
• The candidate must operate an electric pallet jack safely and efficiently.
• The candidate must operate a forklift.
• The candidate must perform order picking.
• The candidate must provide exceptional customer service.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
• The candidate must be willing to walk for long periods of time.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in the produce department to handle, display, and manage fruits and vegetables, ensuring freshness, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• The candidate should work in a warehouse, which can be a noisy, busy place to work, with hundreds of warehouse operatives, pickers, and packers, working alongside many forklift truck drivers who are moving pallets between shelves.
• The candidate should work in wholesalers, purchase their products from a manufacturer or distributor and then sell them to another retailer to market them to end customers.
