Nursery worker

Brookdale Treeland Nurseries Ltd. in Port Hope, ON is seeking a self-motivated Nursery worker. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. This is a Seasonal employment or Full time position. Shift timings include: Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call.

Job Description

• The candidate must perform budding of trees.
• The candidate must clean crops effectively.
• The candidate must cut horticultural crops.
• The candidate must perform greenhouse cleaning.
• The candidate must shear Christmas trees.
• The candidate must perform weeding.
• The candidate must assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
• The candidate must mix and prepare soils.
• The candidate must plant bulbs and seeds.
• The candidate must pot and re-pot plants.
• The candidate must report signs of insect or disease damage.
• The candidate must clean work areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• A candidate with experience is an asset.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
