Nursery worker

DUTCHMASTER NURSERIES LTD ( Pickering, ON) is currently looking for a skilled Nursery worker. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. We are offering a Seasonal employment or Full time opportunity. Work schedule: Early morning, Weekend, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
• The candidate must plant bulbs and seeds.
• The candidate must pot and re-pot plants.
• The candidate must transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings.
• The candidate must apply fertilizers.
• The candidate must report signs of insect or disease damage.
• The candidate must dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs.
• The candidate must water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
