Job Description

• The candidate must determine materials required.
• The candidate must interpret engineering drawings and instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation.
• The candidate must lay out reference points and patterns.
• The candidate must plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently.
• The candidate must study engineering drawings and blueprints.
• The candidate must study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements.
• The candidate must assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.
• The candidate must weld or bolt sections together according to specifications.
• The candidate must set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines.
• The candidate must construct patterns and templates.
• The candidate must install fabricated components in final product.
• The candidate must rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work Setting

• The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.
