Network technical specialist

Sherwood Electromotion Inc is situated in Concord, ON and is hiring a Network technical specialist to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Required shifts: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening.

Job Description

• The candidate must coordinate access and use of computer networks.
• The candidate must install software.
• The candidate must install web server hardware and software.
• The candidate must load printers with paper and forms.
• The candidate must maintain, troubleshoot, and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, computer workstations, and peripheral equipment.
• The candidate must monitor the performance of computer systems and networks.
• The candidate must troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade web server hardware and software.
• The candidate must evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
• The candidate must provide problem-solving services to network users.
• The candidate must implement data, software, and hardware security procedures.
• The candidate must perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records.
• The candidate must perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
• The candidate must set up local area networks and connections to the Internet.
• The candidate must implement network traffic and security monitoring software and optimize server performance.
• The candidate must modify Web pages, applets, and scripts.
• The candidate must research and apply metadata to Websites and register Websites with search engines.
• The candidate must respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and designers.
• The candidate must perform Web-server backup and recovery operations.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Setting

• The candidate must be able to work in a computer hardware or software retail or wholesale environment.
• The candidate must work at a help desk to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and assist users in resolving problems.
• The candidate must work in manufacturing industry to operate machinery, assemble products, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• The candidate must work in information technology (IT) infrastructure to manage, maintain, and support hardware, software, and network systems, ensuring reliable and secure operations.
