Metalworking machine operator

Durabac Inc. is situated in Granby, QC and is hiring a Metalworking machine operator to join the team. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, To be determined shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must check products for correct shapes, dimensions, and other specifications.
• The candidate must clean and lubricate machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld, or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products.
• The candidate must document work completed.
• The candidate must investigate problems and perform minor repairs.
• The candidate must lay out, set up, and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines.
• The candidate must operate presses or forging machines to perform hot or cold forging of metal.
• The candidate must position heated or cooled metal pieces on dies of presses or forging machinery.
• The candidate must read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions.
• The candidate must select and transport materials to work areas manually or using cranes or hoists.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in French.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
