Mechanic helper

FOGO ISLAND FREIGHT is situated in Seldom, NL and is hiring a Mechanic helper to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must move tools, equipment, and other materials.
• The candidate must hold stakes during surveying activities.
• The candidate must signal safety procedures to other workers and the general public.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.
• The candidate must operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from surfaces of metal products.
• The candidate must load, move, sort and pile materials and supplies.
• The candidate must clean and prepare surfaces.
• The candidate must grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
• The candidate must read and interpret work orders.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
