Long haul truck driver

Somerville Farms (2014) Ltd. - Trucking Division in Eatonia, SK is seeking a self-motivated Long haul truck driver. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Shift timings include: Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely.
• The candidate must oversee the condition of vehicles and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• The candidate must perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
• The candidate must receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• The candidate must record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• The candidate must maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
• The candidate must communicate with passengers, dispatchers, or other drivers using two-way radio systems.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
• The candidate must have 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be a good team player.
