Long haul truck driver

Nishan Transport ( Dorval, QC) is currently looking for a skilled Long haul truck driver. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques.
• The candidate must demonstrate expertise in mountain driving.
• The candidate must demonstrate professionalism in customer service.
• The candidate must arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations.
• The candidate must drive lighter, special purpose trucks.
• The candidate must load and unload goods efficiently.
• The candidate must obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
• The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely.
• The candidate must oversee the condition of vehicles and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• The candidate must perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
• The candidate must receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• The candidate must record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must have 3 to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
