Labourer, primary metal processing

Newco Metals ( Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL) is currently looking for a skilled Labourer, primary metal processing. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• The candidate must transport raw materials, finished products and scrap materials through the plant.
• The candidate must feed conveyors, crushers and other equipment.
• The candidate must sort, stack, bundle, and stamp materials.
• The candidate must assist process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing.
• The candidate must load and unload vehicles using a forklift or dolly.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.
• The candidate must assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
