Labourer - metal fabrication

American Iron & Metal in Québec, QC is seeking a self-motivated Labourer - metal fabrication. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Work schedule: Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend, To be determined, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from surfaces of metal products.
• The candidate must transport items throughout the plant using powered equipment.
• The candidate must transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant manually.
• The candidate must assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers.
• The candidate must sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials.
• The candidate must grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.
• The candidate must read and interpret work orders.
• The candidate must oversee the receiving, sorting, routing, and delivery of mail.
• The candidate must handle, sort, and move drill pipes, tools, cement, and other materials.
• The candidate must analyze technical documents and reports.
• The candidate must load and unload vehicles using a forklift or dolly.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.

• The candidate should work in an industrial facility or any establishment engaged in manufacturing or processing, including, but not limited to, factories, foundries, mills, processing plants, refineries, mines and slaughterhouses.
