Janitor

Brian's Maintenance in Owen Sound, ON is inviting applications for the position of Janitor. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. Position status: Permanent employment - Part time. Flexible availability required for: Evening, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
• The candidate must operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and refuse.
• The candidate must empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• The candidate must wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
• The candidate must make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
• The candidate must contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
• The candidate must clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Equivalent experience is acceptable.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in an office building; quality workspace design leads to a less stressful and more productive atmosphere.
• The candidate should work in commercial buildings where commercial activities occur, including office buildings, retail space, warehouses, etc.
