Ironworker

GC United Construction Ltd. is situated in Abbotsford, BC and is hiring a Ironworker to join the team. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity.

Job Description

• The candidate must erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.
• The candidate must read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
• The candidate will be responsible for guiding crane operators to place units as per blueprints.
• The candidate must align, weld or bolt units securely in place.
• The candidate will be responsible for positioning and securing steel bars or metal mesh within concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures.
• The candidate must unload and position steel units for hoisting operations.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
