We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Early morning, Morning, Day.

Job Description

• The candidate must assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs.
• The candidate must develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must order supplies and equipment.
• The candidate must encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activities.
• The candidate must engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
• The candidate must guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• The candidate must observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
• The candidate must submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
• The candidate must discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
• The candidate must maintain knowledge of licensing regulations.
• The candidate must establish guidelines for behaviour.
• The candidate must establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
• The candidate must supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be creative.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a child care centre, a day nursery, or a crèches, probably the most formal childcare setting.
