Industrial butcher

Sheik Halal Farms in Grand Valley, ON is inviting applications for the position of Industrial butcher. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Flexible availability required for: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.
• The candidate must slaughter cattle, calves, and sheep as prescribed by religious laws.
• The candidate must remove feathers, singe, and wash poultry to prepare for further processing or packaging.
• The candidate must cut meat and poultry into specific cuts for institutional, commercial, or wholesale use.
• The candidate must remove bones from meat.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Or equivalent experience.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a meat processing and packing plant/establishment that protects meat and meat products during processing, storage, and distribution from mechanical, chemical, and biological hazards.
