Hog farm supervisor

Victoria Valley Farms in Ridgetown, ON is seeking a self-motivated Hog farm supervisor. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Flexible availability required for: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift.

Job Description

• The candidate must diagnose livestock health issues.
• The candidate must handle animals.
• The candidate must perform pig littering activities, including clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medications, identifying piglets, and castration.
• The candidate must treat livestock health issues.
• The candidate must select livestock for sale.
• The candidate must supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs.
• The candidate must perform general farm duties.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
