Job Description

The candidate must accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities.
The candidate must assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up, and assembling medical equipment.
The candidate must assist with maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
The candidate must perform other duties related to patient care and comfort.
The candidate must perform other duties related to personal care.
The candidate must supply and empty bed pans.
The candidate must take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
The candidate must serve meal trays and feed patients.
The candidate must weigh, lift, turn, and position patients.
The candidate must make beds and maintain patients’ rooms.
The candidate must supervise patients’ exercise routines.
The candidate must administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas.
The candidate must maintain inventory of supplies.
The candidate must bathe, dress, and groom patients.
The candidate must transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers.
The candidate must answer call signals to determine patients’ needs.
The candidate must collect specimens.
The candidate must administer first aid in emergency situations.

Job Requirements

The candidate must be fluent in English.
The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.

Work Setting

The candidate must work in a home care or visiting care agency to provide support, assistance, and health services to clients in their residences.
