Head chef

Revelstoke Mountain Resort in Prince George, BC is inviting applications for the position of Head chef. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Required shifts: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• The candidate must supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
• The candidate must instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
• The candidate must prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
• The candidate must prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
• The candidate must consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions.
• The candidate must plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants.
• The candidate must plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• The candidate must supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks.
• The candidate must train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
• The candidate must lead and instruct individuals.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade or equivalent experience.
• The candidate must have 3 to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
