First Choice Haircutters is situated in New Minas, NS and is hiring a Hairstylist to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Work schedule: Overtime required, Day, Evening, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must advise clients on beauty care treatments.
• The candidate must analyze hair and scalp conditions to determine appropriate treatments.
• The candidate must cut and trim hair according to client instructions or preferences.
• The candidate must shampoo customers’ hair.
• The candidate must provide other hair treatments, such as waving, straightening, and tinting, and also provide scalp conditioning massages.
• The candidate must apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to colour, frost, or streak hair.
• The candidate must apply hair extensions.
• The candidate must clean and style wigs and hair pieces.
• The candidate must cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
• The candidate must suggest hairstyles compatible with clients’ physical features and preferences.
• The candidate must maintain and order supplies.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
