Cape Breton Residential Society in New Waterford, NS is seeking a self-motivated Group home worker. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This role offers Casual employment - Part time employment. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call, Flexible hours shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must assess clients’ relevant skill strengths and development needs.
• The candidate must perform housekeeping activities.
• The candidate must perform food preparation.
• The candidate must provide suicide and crisis intervention.
• The candidate must resolve conflict situations.
• The candidate must implement behaviour management programs.
• The candidate must liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients.
• The candidate must assist clients/guests with special needs.
• The candidate must accompany clients to appointments and social outings.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• A candidate with experience is an asset.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must uphold values and ethics.
