Greenhouse worker

Orchard Park Growers Ltd. ( St. Catharines, ON) is currently looking for a skilled Greenhouse worker. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Terms of employment: Term or contractFull time. The schedule involves Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend shifts. This position has been approved by the LMIA.

Job Description

• The candidate must assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
• The candidate must plant bulbs and seeds.
• The candidate must pot and re-pot plants.
• The candidate must transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings.
• The candidate must report signs of insect or disease damage.
• The candidate must water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
• The candidate must clean work areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• A candidate with experience is an asset.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The work environment is smoke-free.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
