Floor systems carpenter

NIRWAN BROTHERS LIMITED in Surrey, BC is seeking a self-motivated Floor systems carpenter. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
• The candidate must measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• The candidate must fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
• The candidate must schedule and coordinate work on sites.
• The candidate must supervise other workers.
• The candidate must estimate costs and materials.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
