APS BUILDERS LTD. in Hamilton, ON is inviting applications for the position of Floor covering installer. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Required shifts: Morning, Day, Evening.

Job Description

• The candidate must inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered.
• The candidate must read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
• The candidate must measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding.
• The candidate must prepare flooring plans and scheduling.
• The candidate must measure, cut, and install carpeting on floors.
• The candidate must prepare and install hardwood floors.
• The candidate must inspect and repair damaged floor coverings.
• The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
• The candidate must install carpeting on walls or other surfaces.
• The candidate must install outdoor carpets.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
