G&G Roofing Ltd in Nanaimo, BC is seeking a self-motivated Flat roofer. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Flexible availability required for: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt-saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel.
• The candidate must install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles, shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
• The candidate must install roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
• The candidate must install single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositions.
• The candidate must repair or replace single-ply roofing systems.
• The candidate must repair roofing systems.
• The candidate must apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level.
• The candidate must install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
• The candidate must install sheet metal flashings.
• The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
• The candidate must erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be dependable.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work in a commercial setting that fosters a workforce of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
• The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.
• The candidate should work in an institution, the purposive action of individuals and organizations aimed at creating, maintaining, and disrupting institutions.
• The candidate must work in residential settings, performing tasks on one-, two-, and three-family dwellings.
