Steelcon in St. Catharines, ON is inviting applications for the position of Fitter, steel - structural metal. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Morning, Day, Night, Shift, To be determined, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must determine materials required.
• The candidate must interpret engineering drawings and instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation.
• The candidate must lay out reference points and patterns.
• The candidate must plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently.
• The candidate must study engineering drawings and blueprints.
• The candidate must study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements.
• The candidate must assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.
• The candidate must weld or bolt sections together according to specifications.
• The candidate must set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines.
• The candidate must construct patterns and templates.
• The candidate must install fabricated components in final product.
• The candidate must rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
