Fish processing plant labourer

BEACH POINT PROCESSING COMPANY in Murray Harbour, PE is seeking a self-motivated Fish processing plant labourer. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Seasonal employment or Full time position. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime available shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must unload fish and shellfish from vessels and transport by hand.
• The candidate must transport fish and shellfish to the designated work area.
• The candidate must condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing.
• The candidate must weigh fish or shellfish, record weights, and pack products in ice for storage or transport.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.
• The candidate must measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.
• The candidate must sort fish according to species, weight, and destination.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
