Farm labourer

VH Farms Inc. ( Delhi, ON) is currently looking for a skilled Farm labourer. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. We are offering a Seasonal employment or Full time opportunity. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must develop and guide the behaviour of farm animals.
• The candidate must disinfect pens, barns, or poultry houses.
• The candidate must handle animals.
• The candidate must perform weeding.
• The candidate must fertilize and spray crops.
• The candidate must provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting.
• The candidate must detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry.
• The candidate must write daily basic progress reports.
• The candidate must set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a quick learner.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
• The candidate must work in all weather conditions.
• The candidate must work in dirty environments.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
• The candidate should work in staff accommodation that offers live-in accommodation when an employer provides a housing offer to its employees.
