Toronto Advocates ( North York, ON) is currently looking for a skilled Family and estates lawyer. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This role offers Term or contractPart time employment. Flexible availability required for: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening.

Job Description

• The candidate must plead clients’ cases before courts of law, tribunals, and boards (lawyers only).
• The candidate must draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion.
• The candidate must negotiate settlements of civil disputes (lawyers only).
• The candidate must offer mediation, conciliation, and arbitration services.
• The candidate must research legal precedents and gather evidence.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree.
• Equivalent professional experience accepted.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate must be able to meet tight deadlines.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be able to manage a large caseload.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a legal-aid clinic to provide legal assistance, prepare documentation, and support clients with limited resources.
• The candidate must work in a private company, corporation, or industry.
• The candidate must work in a private practice.
