Early childhood educator (ECE)

Blooming Minds Montessori Daycare in Whitehorse, YT is seeking a self-motivated Early childhood educator (ECE). We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. The schedule involves Morning shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
• The candidate must encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activities.
• The candidate must guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• The candidate must observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
• The candidate must establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
• The candidate must plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 3 months to less than 1 year.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
