CP Rec Club in Carleton Place, ON is inviting applications for the position of Early childhood educator (ECE). This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Permanent employment - Part time position. Required shifts: Early morning, Morning, Day.

Job Description

• The candidate must develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must maintain daycare equipment.
• The candidate must lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
• The candidate must assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records.
• The candidate must encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activities.
• The candidate must engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
• The candidate must guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• The candidate must establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
• The candidate must plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
• The candidate must plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a nursery school to provide early childhood education, supervision, and developmental support.
• The candidate should work in before and after-school programs to provide a safe, fun environment for all students to participate in academic, leisure, and recreational activities outside the traditional school day.
